누군가의 글에서 'Saint-Exupéry'의 <어린왕자, Le Petit Prince>와 비슷한,
세상을 여행하면서 겪는 이야기라고 해서 보았다.
하지만 <어린왕자>의 천진스러움과는 거리가 멀다.
내용은 상당히 시니컬하며 회의적이며 네가티브다.
차라리 <이상한 나라의 앨리스>에 가깝다.
주인공 <키노>는 말하는 오토바이 <에르메스>를 타고
낯선 세상을 방문하는 <여행자>이다.
<5편, 레일위의 3명의 남자>편 내용을 잠시 들여다 보자...
50년동안 녹슨 레일을 닦고 풀을 뽑는 노동자A를 만난다.
회사에서 특별히 그만두라고 하지 않아서 계속 이 일을 하고 있다고 했다.
그리고 그와 점심을 먹으며 <일하지 않아도 되는 나라>얘기를 해준다.
그 마을에서는 일을 하지 않아도 되지만 웬일인지 사람들은 모두 일을 한다.
그리고 괴로워 한다. <키노>는 왜 일하냐? 기계들이 일을 다 해주지 않느냐?
물어보지만 그의 대답은 썡뚱맞다. '스트레스'를 주기 위함이란다.
그리고 그 일의 스트레스에 비례해서 '월급'을 받는단다.
게을러지지 않기 위해 나태해 지지 않기 위해 일을 한단다.
그리고 휴식시간이 끝나자 다시 일을 시작한다.
이야기가 끝나자 그 노동자A는 그런 무의미한 일을 계속하는 것은 미친 짓이라고 말하고 헤어진다.
몇일 뒤 그 말끔해진 철로위를 달리던 <키노>는 멈춰선다.
그의 앞에는 철로를 해체하고 있는 노동자B를 만난 것이다.
한 50년전부터 회사에서 시킨 일이고 특별히 그만두라고 하지 않아서 지금까지 계속하고 있단다.
그와 점심을 먹으면서 다시 <일을 하지 않아도 되는 나라> 얘기를 해줬다.
그는 부럽다고 했다. 그 마을에 태어났으면 절대 일을 하지 않을꺼라고 하면서 혜어졌다.
다시 몇일 뒤 해체된 철로위를 달리던 <키노>는 멈추었다.
다시 철로를 놓는 노동자C와 만난것이다.
한 50년동안 계속 이 일을 했으며 회사에서 특별히 그만두라고 하지 않았기 때문에 계속 이 일을 하고 있다고 했다. 뭔가 얘기를 해달라는 그의 부탁에 잠시 고민하다가 정중히 거절한다.
그리고 한결 같이 만났던 그 철도노동자들은 <키노>에게 물어봤다.

TV애니메이션 "미소녀전사 세일러문" 및 "미소녀전사 세일러문R"(1992년 3월 7일 방영된 1편부터 1994년 3월 12일에 방영된 제 89화 까지)의 오프닝곡으로 사용되었다.
1992년 액션즈중에서 선발된 타카하시 미스즈, 니시모토 마리, 이시자와 아키라, 츠지야 사유리 4명의 아이돌 그룹 DALI가 노래했지만 "문라이트 전설" 발매 직후 해산, 타카하시와 니시모토는 그후 MANISH를 결성.
"미소녀전사 세일러문S"및 "미소녀전사 세일러문SuperS"(1994년 3월 19일에 방영된 90편부터 1996년 3월 2일에 방영된 166편까지)에서는 문립스(사쿠라코클럽 벚꽃조)가 새로 녹음한 음원이 사용되었다.

마지막부분인 경王이 초칙을 반포하는 카타르시스를 느끼게 하는 명장면이다.
처음 경王 요코를 봤을때 한낱 철 모르는 여고생이었지만 여러 나라를 돌아다니고 자기 자신과의 싸움으로 통치 초기의 모습과는 사뭇 다른 진지하고 또한 강건한 군주의 모습으로 나타난다.

야간 덥고..습기지고..신경 거슬리는 새벽..Pat의 'Au lait'가 잘 어울린다..눈감고 그 감정선을 따라가기도 하고.. BGM으로 가도 좋구..영화' le gout des autres(타인의취향,1999)'에서 등장인물의 불안한 마음을 잘 표현하고 있다.
새벽에 들어야 제맛인 이 곡이 화창한 밝은 날에 들으면 그 감정이 살지 않는다. 축축한 새벽..해뜨기 전..까만하늘이 파랗게 물들기 시작할때...
Offramp앨범의 3번째 곡이다.
변덕쟁이 오렌지 로드 (きまぐれオレンジ☆ロード, Kimagure Orange Road)는 좀 각별한 작품이다.
본격적으로 Japanimation을 보기 시작한 계기가 되었다고 할까. 치고 박고 싸우는 애니만 보다가 말랑말랑한 남녀 심리를 다룬 애니를 보자니 두더러기가 날것 같았지만 매회 전개되는 아쉬움이랄까.. 교묘했다. 그리고 거기에 음악까지 귀를 확 사로잡았었다.
저 노래를 듣고 있자면 먼나먼 옛 추억이 떠오른다.

시끌벅적했던 세상이 황혼기에 접어들 무렵 도시들은 물에 가라앉고 남은 한적한 요코하마의 어느 카페. 해진 저녁 무렵 가라앉은 마을의 물 밑으로 하나 둘씩 켜지는 가로등 장면은 멋지다. 별 다른 큰 이슈 없이 편안하게 볼 수 있는 만화고 들을 수 있는 음악이 있어서 좋다. 가사도 딱~ 생활일본어.

'카우보이 비밥'은 '칸노 요코'가 만든 독특한 재즈 분위기로 자유로운 영혼을 표현하였는데,
'사무라이 참프루'에서는 '누자베스'(Nujabes, 1974~2010/02/26)의 힙합 정신을 담았다고 볼 수 있다.
'Nujabes'는 안타깝게도 2010년초 교통사고로 사망하였다.
