(Mary Hopkin) - Those were the days (1968)

(Mary Hopkin)
Apple Records'

'Those were the days'는 Boris Fomin이 작곡한 Дорогой длинною [Dorogoi dlinnoyu]를
Gene Raskin

아직은 "My friend we're older but no wiser" 인가봐...

Mary Hopkin - Those were the days (1968, live in France: 1969)

Writers : Boris Fomin, Gene Raskin / Producer : Paul McCartney

Once upon a time there was a tavern
Where we used to raise a glass or two
Remember how we laughed away the hours
And dreamed of all the great things we would do

Those were the days my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance for ever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
We'd fight and never lose
For we were young and sure to have our way.
La la la la...

Then the busy years went rushing by us
We lost our starry notions on the way
If by chance I'd see you in the tavern
We'd smile at one another and we'd say

Those were the days my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance for ever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
We'd fight and never lose
Those were the days, oh yes those were the days
La la la la...

Just tonight I stood before the tavern
Nothing seemed the way it used to be
In the glass I saw a strange reflection
Was that lonely woman really me

Those were the days my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance for ever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
We'd fight and never lose
Those were the days, oh yes those were the days
La la la la...

Through the door there came familiar laughter
I saw your face and heard you call my name
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same

Those were the days my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance for ever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
We'd fight and never lose
Those were the days, oh yes those were the days
La la la la...

Duncan Browne - Give Me, Take You (1968)

Give me, Take me

Duncan Browne - Give Me, Take You (1968)

I give you me and you take
I offer real and you give me fake
Only an expert can tell between the two
Why don't you take from me what I give to you?

You take from me and I give
What is killing me makes you live
Give to me what it takes to be
And take from you what it means to see

So give to you and I'll take from me
Through your deafness I will hear and
Through my blindness you will see
Take what I give and only you will see
What I give to you is only what you give to me

(I should take but still I give
You should give out but still you take
We miss each other by a breath)

I give you me and you take
I offer real and you give me fake
Only an expert can tell between the two
Why don't you take from me what I give to you?

Duncan Browne - Dwarf In A Tree (A Cautionary Tale) (1968)

There was a dwarf who lived in a tree
I could see him just like you see me
He told me secrets I never knew
Misfortune would fill him with glee

I gave him smiles, he gave me words
And said that I should hear what he said
That you and I should walk through our ears
Into darkness and enter our heads

See our thoughts like films on a screen
Play back what we don't understand
Rub out words we never meant
Vanish tears with a smile of the hand

What people say is said for all time
We remember what we don't forget
Putting words to a beautiful mime
And confusion is all that we get

To say hello is all that's required
Dig too deep and you get in a mess
Forcing smiles with lips that are tired
If you don't know the truth then you guess

The dwarf would laugh and stand on his head
Hang upside from the tree
And say that reasons should be left unsaid
Or you'll end up a dwarf like me

You'll stunt your mind and cripple your heart
Wanting to know why and what
And start to panic when boredom starts
So just be glad to have what you've got

The tree is gone and so has the dwarf
And all that's left is a hole
But don't be fooled that he's gone far away
He's just biding his time in your soul

Duncan Browne - Wild places (1978)

A prima donna, slipped into her leather
But she was restless
She knew it in her heart of hearts
She said "Tonight you'd better pull yourself together,
Because tonight I'm gonna pull myself apart!"
Out on the streets
Everyone is searchin' for a thrill
But she's the only one that's out there
really dressed to kill
And she said "Listen to me, it's not a tragedy,
This time I'm gettin' thorough and now there's
something you can do for me!

And oh, oh, take me to the Wild Places
And let me show you what the night is for
Cos I don't wanna dream
I wanna set the wheels in motion
I don't wanna see your eyes across a dancin' floor"

TV angel with her eyes full of smoke
Gazin' at the hero, he's so mucho macho
He shrugs, he says "This must be some kind on joke."
As she pulls on his cigarette and loves him to distraction.
But she cries, "I don't wanna feel like a machine
I'm not the only one who wants to feel the in-between
That's why I'm deep into this state of fascination
That's why I've lost the art of conversation.

And oh, oh, take me to the Wild Places
If you wanna see what's really in my soul
But you'd better keep your eye on where my pretty face is
Cos in the heat of the moment I just lose control
In the heat of the moment, I just lose control!"

Eyes out of focus, the sharpening of blades
The sad tension, reek of patchouli
Even the jokers are dealin' in spades
It's one dimension, it's all so passé'
Just then a voice said,
"Honey, it's too late to change your mind"
Her face tightened
I could see she'd found a new design
and she said, "Listen to me, it's just a fantasy
This time I'm comin through
and now there's something you can do for me...
There's something you can do for me!

And oh, oh, take me to the Wild Places
And let me show you what the night is for
I don't wanna dream, I wanna set the wheels in motion
Cos' in the heat of the moment I just lose control
In the heat of the moment I just lose control."

Planet of the Apes (1968)

(Le Pont de la rivière Kwaï, The Bridge over the River Kwai) (소설 1952, 영화 1957),
(La planète des singes, Planet of the Apes) (소설 1963, 영화 1968)

Planet of The Apes (1968)
Tayor : Take your stinking paws off me. You damn dirty ape!

Rise Of The Planet of The Apes (2011)에도 나온다.

1. Planet of the Apes (1968)

2. Beneath the Planet of the Apes (1970)

3. Escape from the Planet of the Apes (1971)

4. Conquest of the Planet of the Apes (1972)

5. Battle for the Planet of the Apes (1973)

Rain and Tears - Demis Roussos (1968)

Rain and Tears (End of the World, 1968)

Rain and tears are the same,
but in the sun
you've got to play the game.

When you cry in winter time,
you can pretend
it's nothing but the rain.

How many times I've seen
tears coming from your blue eyes.

Rain and tears are the same,
but in the sun
you've got to play the game.

Give me an answer of love,
I need an answer of love.

Rain and tears in the sun
but in your heart
you feel the rainbow waves.

Rain and tears both I shun,
for in my heart
there'll never be a sun.

Rain and tears are the same,
but in the sun
you've got to play the game.

My Friend The Wind (Goodbye, my love, goodbye, 1973)

My friend the wind will come from the hills
When dawn will rise, he'll wake me again
My friend the wind will tell me a secret
He shares with me, he shares with me

My friend the wind will come from the north
With words of love, she whispered for me
My friend the wind will say she loves me
And me alone, and me alone

I'll hear her voice and the words
That he brings from Helenimou
Sweet as a kiss are the songs of Aghapimou
Soft as the dew is the touch of Manoulamou
Oh oh oh

We'll share a dream where I'm never away from Helenimou
Blue are the days like the eyes of Aghapimou
Far from the world will I live with Manoulamou
Oh oh oh

My friend the wind go back to the hills
And tell my love a day will soon come
Oh friendly wind you tell her a secret
You know so well, oh you know so well

My friend the wind will come from the north
With words of love, she whispered for me
My friend the wind will say she loves me
And me alone, and me alone

I'll hear her voice and the words
That he brings from Helenimou
Sweet as a kiss are the songs of Aghapimou
Soft as the dew is the touch of Manoulamou
Oh oh oh

We'll share a dream where I'm never away from Helenimou
Blue are the days like the eyes of Aghapimou
Far from the world will I live with Manoulamou
Oh oh oh

La la la .... Helenimou
La la la .... Aghapimou
La la la .... Manoulamou

La la la .... Helenimou
La la la .... Aghapimou
La la la .... Manoulamou

From Souvenirs To Souvenirs (Souvenirs, 1975)

A lonely room and empty chair
Another day so hard to bear
The things around me that I see remind me of
The past and how it all used to be

From souvenirs to more souvenirs I live
With days gone by when our hearts had all to give
From souvenirs to more souvenirs I live
With dreams you left behind
I'll keep on turning in my mind

There'll never be another you
No one will share the worlds we knew
And now that loneliness has come to take your place
I close my eyes and see your face

From souvenirs to more souvenirs I live
With days gone by when our hearts had all to give
From souvenirs to more souvenirs I live
With dreams you left behind
I'll keep on turning in my mind..

Forever and ever (Forevr and ever, 1973)

Ever and ever, forever and ever you'll be the one
that shines in me like the morning sun.
Ever and ever, forever and ever you'll be my spring,
my rainbow's end and the song I sing.

Take me far beyond imagination.
You're my dream come true, my consolation.

Ever and ever, forever and ever you'll be my dream,
my symphony, my own lover's theme.
Ever and ever, forever and ever my destiny
will follow you eternally.

Take me far beyond imagination.
You're my dream come true, my consolation.

Ever and ever, forever and ever you'll be the one
that shines in me like the morning sun.
Ever and ever, forever and ever my destiny
will follow you eternally.
